I love to learn, and I have insatiable curiosity.

I used to always feel awkward and guilty because I'm bored by lack of curiosity.

Can you relate?

• I don’t read fiction and love documentaries or shows with a mystery to solve on TV

• I can easily go down conversation rabbit holes on obscure topics when I see a unique perspective nobody else is talking about

• I can't fathom not being ā€œfascinated by how the world works"

For years, I stayed isolated and hiding my authentic self in my own mind, but now I’ve leaned into it as a superpower.

With the ability to identify unique relationship between information, I'm learning to filter into the bucket of ā€œusefulā€ or ā€œuselessā€ right now.

I have been liberated with ā€œjust-in-timeā€ mentality, though still building the muscle to stay focused on one project at a time.

I'm obsessed with getting more efficient.

While still figuring out my note taking system, I am no longer married to a complex note-taking system where I capture ideas ā€œjust-in-caseā€ they might be interesting in the future.

Now I obsess over figuring out a "second brain" that works for me.

My curiosity lead me to the Ship 30 for 30 community, which has sharpened how I think.

Now I can leverage a proven result to write a post in 5 minutes.

Like Dickie, consuming information I do not care about is like sitting through a boring college lecture on a class I hate, absolute torture.

However in a world of weaponizing rapid progress against humanity, the opportunity cost of not being curious has never been higher.

Maybe this will change in the future, but I write this because I know the feeling will resonate with people who feel the same way, particularly in marginalized communities living at the intersections of systems of inequities.

For whoever needs to hear this: it’s okay to lean into your curiosity and share with the world as a contribution to connect rather than divide.

There is no one size fits all approach to information and progress.

It's possible to inhale information to keep yourself moving forward and be curious about different perspectives of the world at the same time.

Focus on your systems and habits to ensure progress and contribution, which are not mutually exclusive.
